I've started a replay of the 1969 MLB season using Inside Pitch Baseball. I enjoy seeing how injuries are handled in the different games so I generally start with As Played lineups and as the season goes on injuries force me to move away from As Played. That said, I'm going to attempt to replicate real life usage as much as the injury system will allow.
This is my first time playing Inside Pitch and I must say that I'm very interested in how the game plays. I love that all interactions start with the pitcher, but the batter also impacts nearly every plate appearance. I'm not sold yet on how park effects are implemented, but it's a novel approach. I like how range plays occur. Errors come in many different varieties including bungled grounders, poor throws, and dropped fly balls. I like that there can be errors made on hits that allow for extra baserunner advancement. Speaking of baserunner advancement, I like how it's implemented in this game. It feels very realistic. Perhaps my favorite innovation in this game is the managerial roll that is made whenever there is a runner on base. The die tells you whether the runner should steal or the batter should bunt or initiate a hit and run. With my limited experience it appears the game will give players about the correct amount of sacrifices, stolen bases, etc based on these rolls. I'll report back after the season is completed.

We'll see if Detroit can keep up their torrid pace in the American League while a number of teams are off to pretty good starts in the NL.
